Take style and class mixed with the right amount of awesome and you get Kaitlin and Mike. Naturally these two were both totally relaxed and enjoying their big day despite the rain showers in November. It still made for a beautiful wedding at St. Kates Chapel. After meeting these two during their engagement session I knew their wedding was going to be sooooo much fun and they did not disappoint. One beautiful bride in her stunning gown, one dapper groom, love, friends, family...it was perfect.
St- Paul
Kaitlin and Mike (Post by Desiree)
I first met Kaitlin and Mike over skype! The two downloaded it for the first time ever just to talk with me and I'm SOOO glad they did. (Thanks guys!) After discussing whether to meet in Minneapolis or near the lakes, the stars aligned and last minute we met downtown St. Paul, just blocks from where BOTH Kaitlin and Mike grew up. We had a real life meeting at the incredibly cool W.A. Frost Restaurant! Right away I could tell that Kaitlin and Mike go hand-in-hand. They're true adventurers with giant hearts and they're FUN. We spent a couple hours grabbing drinks and exploring the streets before heading to the old water tower where Mike proposed!! I'm excited to photograph their wedding this fall.
Adria and Jon (Post by Thea)
Adria and Jon are two of the most sincere and happy people ever. We had a wonderful time goofing around at Como Zoo and Conservatory last week. Well, all was good except a fateful ride on the Tilt-A-Whirl. Ahem, I for one may be getting too old for that and was woozy for hours afterward! But, all in all, Como Park may be one of my favorite places to shoot an engagement session. There is a kitschy amusement park, gorgeous landscapes, nature trails, even a bit of architecture! Looking forward to Stillwater with these two and their families this August.
Jennie and Tom (Post by Thea)
After two rain delays, Jennie, Tom, and I finally found a gorgeous day to run around St. Paul. The two share a lot of history in the city. Jennie works in downtown St. Paul and Tom proposed to her in Rice Park. We started the evening at Harriet Island, where across the river I'll shoot their wedding in September. Given Jennie's eye for detail, I know it will be beautiful! Congrats Jennie and Tom!

a little impromptu shoot with model Blair Emerson around Harriet Island. I recently got some new fun equipment so this was a great opportunity to test it out!
Katie & Jeff | A November Wedding {post by natalie}
Katie & Jeff were the winners of my wedding giveaway last year! They met at the wedding of a mutual friend, Katie was a bridesmaid & Jeff served the dutiful role as an usher. After the wedding, Jeff returned home to Arizona. Even though he was a few thousand miles away, Katie & Jeff stayed in touch. They talked daily...for hours at a time! They got to know each other very well & it was during a trip back to Minnesota that they officially decided to date long distance. Distance is never easy on a relationship, but they made it work. In July, Jeff decided to pursue his career as a pilot back in Minnesota. Katie went out, helped him pack up, & they drove across country to bring him back home. Since Jeff's return to Minnesota they have been inseparable. And since November they have been husband & wife! This wedding was so much fun to photograph! Personally, my favorite moments are always those moments when I get the bride & groom to myself. The air was cool, but not yet too cold and the ground wasn't yet wet...perfect for photographing their first look outside! From the adorable salon on Grand Avenue to the historic St. Paul Hotel, from the Church of the Assumption to Rice Park & the Town & Country Club every moment of their day was filled with amazing locations to photograph them, their wedding party & family in! Enjoy!
My Week in Review (by: Marc James)
This past week I had the pleasure of working a few different projects. One of which had me working with Rhymesayers artist and local legend Toki Wright, one put me in the depths of strange night in local Hip Hop at the 'Group Therapy' show, but first I would like to show you this. I had great time shooting with local model Allison Reimer for a little Lumberjack themed shoot. Though we were not in the heart of northern Minnesota we made it work and came out with some great images!
These are from my shoot with Mr. Toki Wright. Make sure to take listen to his music and see what all the fuss is about. He just put out a great new podcast which gives you a look into what this local artist listens to and what his life is like.
Last but not least I have the madness that was the Group Therapy show. All in all it was a great night but what really made the night was this. Next door to the 7th St Entry Public Enemy was performing. We were able to get in for the encore and when Flava Flav came out I heard this, "What Up Indianapolis!!!"... Flav you were everything I hoped, you retarded little savant you.
Presenting...The Warners! (Post by Louisa)

PERFECT WEATHER. Lots of smiling. Sparkly jewelry. A trolley car. Library books. Dimples. Sparklers. Love. Lots and lots of love.
Life as a King! (post by Desiree)
When I said earlier that Jenny and Bart were the coolest cats, I found out on their wedding day that actually they're just the coolest eveaarr. It is so refreshing to be around a couple who are so fun and are all about showin' their love. These two were up for anything when it came to photography, Jenny even stood in the rain on gravel. :) It was also apparent on their wedding day how many others, friends, and family absolutely adore them! Jenny and Bart put such hard work into making their wedding day personal and special and boy did it pay off! Both artists, Jenny made the bridesmaids bouquets and center pieces out of CUPCAKE PAPER CUPS! She even baked her own cupcakes for the guests. Seriously girl?!?! Bart created their invitations, 'Eat like a King' recipe gift booklet, and logo which printed off on the photo at their rockin' photo booth. Talk about DIY that oozes creativity and personality. :) The couple wed at the Bigelow Chapel and held their reception in St. Paul at the Jackson Street Roundhouse, which proved to be beautiful and awesome. I hope you two enjoy the sun in Mexico. Thank you SO much for letting me be a part of your wedding day. It was special and I cried too many times to tell you.
Infectious smile? Yes.
He loves her. :)
Lets stand in a 95 degree train and be all sexy and in love. Um...YES.
My day with the City House (Marc James)
A few days ago I had the pleasure of working with the City House. The City House is a group that connects those on the margins of society, who might be homeless, in prison, or in recovery, with those in the mainstream of our society, for mutual listening, learning, and transformation. I was able to document the days of mentors and leaders in this group and talk with them about the lives they have lead and the lives they currently lead, an experience I won't soon forget.
A Minnesota Winter Wedding {by Desiree}
It turned out to be an absolutely GORGEOUS day last weekend for Danielle and David's superbly creative and lovely wedding. Danielle is a super talented fashion designer here in the Twin Cities so it was without a doubt that her dress and the rest of the wedding crew would be looking incredible. It was SUCH a joy photographing these two who have been together for over 7 years already! Danielle has got to be the most calm, cool, and collected bride I've ever worked with and I LOVED that she was even adding additional touches to her gown and sewing moments before she put it on. Wearing wool coats and hats, their friends and family braved the Minnesota winter cold on Raspberry Island in the middle of the Mississippi River. Check it out! // Danielle and David were featured in the St. Paul, Pioneer Press TODAY.
Thank you Danielle and David for letting me be a part of this incredibly special day!
High School Sweethearts {by Desiree}
These two started dating when they were in 11th GRADE. Through it all - college, long distance dating, and more they stayed strong. They're also two of the coolest cats in town. They were married in the beautiful big church at St. Kates here in St.Paul. It was an ABSOLUTE BLAST photographing their wedding here in the Twin Cities. Cheers!
